Thoughts About Coronavirus
Covid-19 Has Made Its Impact
Here in South Texas, everything is going into lockdown. There are confirmed cases of Coronavirus here in the RGV now. There have been cases of it reported in Reynosa/McAllen, Brownsville, South Padre Island, and Rio Hondo. The fear has become real. The reports have been very concerning, rightfully so, The 2020 pandemic has killed many people worldwide.
The fear behind the diseases is that its very easy to spread as most show only mild symptoms, and most of those symptoms could easily be confused with the common code. Many have shown mild symptoms, but the fear is that if many with existing colds or illness catch this thing can be fatal. Not only that, their is no vaccination or treatment either currently. This is why caution and good hygiene has to be exercised and limiting as much human contact as possible. The need to exercise vigilant hygiene and take precautions is present.
As noted, people have a very valid reason to be concerned. However, their is a massive difference between exercising caution and being concerned to going off the deep end. It makes sense that their would be a shortage of certain items, like hand sanitizes. However, why would one need many rolls of toilet paper for. Are people doing that much crap-talking. Coronavirus is a respiratory infection, not a stomach aliment. Their is no reason to be hoarding toilet paper.
Because of the excessive hoarding, the major stores have formed lines outside the stores only letting in a certain amount of people. The stores have implemented restrictions on how much of a certain supply one can purchased.
When people panic buy, what they are doing is robbing supplies from those that might actually need it. It's one thing to buy as much sanitizer as you need. Emphasis on quote "need". However, when one starts hording it, it robs the supplies from someone who could potentially get infected down the road. Thus, one doing panic buying might actually exacerbating the current health crisis by their actions and make things much worse.
When one is at home when a shelter-in-place order has been issued, there is no need for hand sanitizer has good old soap and water can suffice. Hand sanitizer is only needed if one goes out. There is no need to excessively hoard hand-sanitizer for home use if one simply uses soap.
Shortages knows no economic, social and political systems. I realized that when walking down the aisles and seeing empty shelves in many parts of the store. Their is a shortage of bread, tortillas, hand sanitizer, alcohol, Gatorade. Items could a few days ago could be taken for granted could practically be traded on the black market now.
I've heard that the conspiracy theory that China created this virus to attack Westerners. This idea is also absurd as if this was true, then China would have been unscathed as everybody else suffered. The very fact that China has suffered horribly both economically and socially, as many Chinese died and they health system has been pushed to the edge, the idea that China created this to weaken the West is also equally absurd.
People also need to stop buying into the conspiracy theories. Their doing a disservice to their brain when they buy into absurd rubbish. Those that believe that Covid-19 is a made-up myth are going to be the first ones to get sick and then spread it to everybody else around them. This will occur because those that think that Coronavirus is some made-up conspiracy won't exercise caution. Unfortunately, I feel that far more people will die from Coronavirus in this country compared to China or Italy because of the gullible of people in this country to buy into absurd conspiracy theories.
For those that lost or losing loved ones from the outbreak, being told that Coronavirus is a made up hoax is on par with Holocaust or Sandy Hook denialism.
When one goes down the road in embracing fake crap like the following: Flat-Earth, the Government was behind 9/11, the Oklahoma City Bombing, the Epstein Suicide, Sandy Hook, and the Kennedy Assassination, the moon landing was faked, The Illuminati, Free Masons, various media conspiracy, various InfoWar re-branding of anti-Semantic tropes centering around the Rothschild and George Soros using words like "main-stream media" or "globablist", Holocaust denial, various boogeymen, "there out to get us for whatever reason!", vaccinations causes various conditions, chemtrails, etc; there are very real-world consequences for buying into nonsensical drivel.
Many will unnecessarily suffer from there shear arrogance and ignorance . From beaches to bingo halls, and everything in-between, when people won't exercise caution, they become a danger to themselves and others. Unfortunately, for those that embrace conspiracy theories, especially surrounding Coronavirus, this might be the price that they have to pay for there tomfoolery. A unnecessary fate that can be avoided with exercising caution with the understanding that Coronavirus is real. Will that ignorance be worth it when one starts to suffer from the virus?
Faith is very important. However, what they are doing isn't faith or spirituality, but the manipulation of it for spectacle and profit. If they were genuine about spirituality, they would open a free health clinic, shelter, or food kitchen, not ask followers for money to be invested into jets.
They say that they don't want to ride the "demon tubes". What they are saying from their spiritual ivory tower is that they're too good for the common man. Give your money to a Christian and/or other nonprofit that actually care and reach out for those in need. See if they operate a shelter or free clinic. Don't give money to these jokers though. I wonder why people give money for and take them seriously given their constant lack of credibility and transparency?
Even if the Chinese foreign minster made such a remark, who cares. Just ignore him and his ignorance. Don't respond back with your own absurdities; and this was what Trump exactly did. Especially don't respond when there is a possibility of race entering the picture. Even though Trump might have intended to refer to the diseases on grounds of location, but one has to remember that Trump also caters to those who embrace very strong racist views.
One could liken this to a dog-whistle term, where the phrase means one thing to someone's year, but hold a "double-meaning" to the ears of someone else. This "double-meaning" can always be denied because it wasn't explicitly said, hence the term "dog-whistle". A word that can only be interpreted different from a different frequency.
Alex Jones uses these phrases all the time. While Alex might intend on words like "Main-Stream Media" or "Globalist" to be used in there intended manner, many of his listeners hold anti-Semantic views. As a result, when he echoes those word, they're these phrases as Jewish control of society, thus promoting anti-Jewish sentiments and promoting age-old Jewish conspiracy theories in the process. He can quickly deny the term by stating that he doesn't hold such views. However, Alex also knows that many of his viewers embrace such views. His rants read exactly as Nazi hate speeches, just with the phrases "Main-stream media" and "Globalist" taking the place of "Jewish".
At first, I was rather indifferent to the phrase. It was assumed that this would just be another of those one-off empty remarks that Trump made. Knowing his lack of inertia when it comes to his use of English, did anyone expect less! This absurd phrase would have dissipated just as quickly as it appeared. However, Trump is still using the phrase on the regular basis.
While the virus did originate from China, the phrase is designed to make a ethnic and/or racial connection to the outbreak. It's intended to stigmatize a group of people based on race and location. While many who may use the phrase might not intend to use it in that manner, that's how it's projected regardless. Even though the virus originated from China, the virus doesn't know ethnicity, and this statement tries to make that ethnic link in a attempt to confirm personal prejudices.
This is troubling as many will justify the use of the phrase to present their racism and prejudiced as a health concern. This isn't a quote "Political Correctness" topic. Their isn't a reason to use the phrase "Chinese virus" as it's pointless, and makes a empty, inaccurate connection based on racial grounds.
Hate crimes against Asians have risen since the outbreak. Can anyone justify using the empty phrase now knowing that it's promoting unjustified racial hostilities. Another reason why it's pointless is that their is already a street name for Coronavirus. It's called....well Coronavirus.
Their is also the technical name for the virus as well, Corvid-19.
Their is no reason to refer to Covid-19 as quote "Chinese virus", unless one is attempting to make a false racial connection. The use of this phrase should be highly discouraged.
