Thoughts About Rodney-Howard Browne and Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy Theories And Weaponized Religion Makes It Impact During This Health Crisis

I was reading a article on the NBC news website where a Pastor showed total disregard for people's health by holding a church service even though many people in this country are catching Coronavirus and dying from it. This story took place in  the Tampa Bay area in Florida.

At this point, it shouldn't be a secret that Coronavirus is a real thing.

Several, both young and old, don't exercise caution  as many think that this either a hoax or something that is just extremely inflated by the media. Several downplay this health crisis by as claiming that this isn't as serious as many make it out to be. Ignorance and arrogance knows no age, and it has been greatly reflecting during this health crisis.

Many spring-breakers are ignoring health regulations, resulting in a massive spread of the virus. On the other end of the age spectrum, many older people continue going to there preferred meeting places business as usual, completely ignorant of the dangers, thinking that Coronavirus is a made up hoax.

This is where the Reverend of the megachurch in question, Rodney Howard-Browne showed complete disregard for people's  health by allowing church to be held, despite the explosive nature of Coronavirus. When one looks at the pictures,  no one is exercising social distancing. There is a complete disregard for health advice.

The more that I did research into Rodney Howard-Browne,  the more that I was repulsed by him. A recent tweet, showed in the Double Toasted video, from Right Wing Watch, had him declaring that he has 13 machines in his church that can quote  "shoot" the virus in the air and human spit at over 100 mph.

If anyone is to take this cheater, I meant devout pastor seriously, then how come he didn't share his wonder device to the world. His device could being saving thousands upon thousands of lives. That's though if anyone takes Rodney Howard-Browne seriously,  which I don't. With 13 Covid-shooting germ machines he could have been working at Theranos. However, if theirs's one thing that he has in common with Elizabeth Homes, its that their is no merit in their absurd claims. At this point, one would be tempted at calling Rodney Howard-Browne a con-artist and it would be a very accurate statement. Some could even go as far to say that his  mannerism is practically cult-like.

I have a strong disdain for megachurches as they often have a artificial when it comes to spirituality. One of the reasons why I feel that way is because they are not often run as a church, but as businesses. Not in the business of Jesus, but in the business of making some green.  I can make a very safe assumption that this is the reason why Rodney Howard-Browne has been gunhole at keeping his church open. He can't make that green while his church is closed. To quote Rodney Howard-Browne: "the church is not a non-essential service.”

Spirituality is essential to a person's well-being. A person's spiritual connection is very precious. However, the physical act of being at a church isn't. One can get there spirituality without conforming to the act of going to a physical building. What can occur at a physical space can also occur within the virtual realm with the advent of social media. People can communicate with each other without physical contact.

For those that see church as a outlet to make money, church has become a essential service.

After watching the Double Toasted video, I decided to do some more research.  I went to Wikipedia. To say that this man is revolting is a understatement. This person ranks up there with Alex Jones when it comes to outputting outlandish crap in the form of conspiracy theories. He made a guest appearance on "Stopped-Up Septic Tank For The Mind", I meant InfoWars as one of Alex Jones's guest.

As one can probably tell by now,  I have a low toleration for conspiracy theories. Going through the article,  he commonly promotes them within his sermon. When one speaks to congregation members,  the responsibility of being honest needs to be a priority.

Rodney Howard-Browne stated that the Coronavirus had been engineered by the Rockefeller Foundation to force people to get vaccinations that would result in mass deaths as a population control scheme. He then stated that the disease was engineered by the Chinese government to dominate Western Countries. I'm surprised that he didn't promote the absurd conspiracy theory that Geroge Soros owning the Chinese lab that engineered Covid-19 (Maybe he did and I just know about it).

One can embrace whatever garbage they want. However, when speaking to people publicly, especially in the church setting, the responsibility to being honest with your congregation should be a priority. When one incorporates conspiracy theories into a sermon, they are passing off outlandish tomfoolery as God's word.

Because people place there preacher on a pedestal, when they make a claim, it becomes true because their preacher said it.  The congregation members won't fact check them.  They will embrace whatever claim and empty blanket statement that there preacher makes run with it at face-value.

If a preacher declares that if you elect a Democrat,  then your one vote away from a concentration camp,  people will believe it because there preacher said it.

If a preacher says that quote "evil liberals" in fancy suits are plotting together with  world leaders in a coordinated fashion  in there underground headquarters in a sinister manner while counting the very seconds to get you; because their preacher said it,  it's now true in there ears and minds.

If preachers declare that Donald Trump is the Messiah and the Second Coming, and he will create a new Israel because of very very vague interpretations of prophecy, combined with conspiracy theories, blood moons, and other nonsense, then it becomes true for many because their preacher said it.

This is done to manipulate people and control them and have them conform to your personal worldview. Essentially, this is something that people running cults do. They will spread lies in order to control people while robbing them financially. The irony is that preachers are called to be honest, and this is a complete contradiction of it.

Conspiracy Theory And Its Impact On American Evangelical Christians
There are real-world consequences for buying into nonsensical drivel like the following:
-Flat-Earth,
-the Government was behind 9/11, the Oklahoma City Bombing, the Epstein Suicide, Sandy Hook, and the Kennedy Assassination,
-the moon landing was faked,
-The Illuminati,
-Free Masons,
-various media conspiracy,
-various InfoWar re-branding of anti-Semantic tropes usually centering around the Rothschild and George Soros using words like "main-stream media" or "globalist"
-Holocaust denial,
-various boogeymen
-vaccinations are responsible for autism,
-chemtrails,

People impair their minds when they embrace such nonsensical drivel. Their intelligence takes a beating while logic and reason dies in the hospital bed.

Unfortunately, Conspiracy theories have been embraced by many American Evangelicals as well. When one support their spiritual or religious views, it not with Biblical teaching,  but supported with sensationalist content that was found on Facebook.

They promote their views by embracing outlandish conspiracy theories  that have zero merit. The Conspiracy Gospel has become a thing. People not reinforcing their views with Bible teaching, but with Conspiracy theories coming from the likes of Breitbart, The Philadelphia Trumpet, or InfoWars. Places that are conspiracy mills and often push off party propaganda as quote "news".

Many allege media cover-ups of Christian suffering, despite the fact that the suffering of Christians in the Middle East by ISIS or Boko Haram, or in China have been widely reported. Some uniformed idiot saw some rubbish article on Breitbart and now, there is a massive cover-up because Breitbart says that there is a massive cover-up.

No examination was done to see if the posted content was true or if the source behind it has a slant or agenda. It was embraced on impulse at face-value as truth simply because it conformed to a person's opinion or worldview. As such, the absurdities from InfoWars, TheBlaze, Brieitbart, The Philadelphia Trumpet, CBN, among others, are as true as something reported by the AP, NPR, or the BBC.

Because of there drivel, several have brought into rubbish conspiracy that quote "evil liberals" in fancy suits are plotting together in a coordinated and well-planned out manner to quote  "get them". Along with whatever else these imaginary cartoon villains are plotting.
I shouldn't be that harsh though. I'm insulting cartoon villains.

Rodney Howard-Browne often promotes and entertains these conspiracy theories on a regular basis. He hinted bloody political coups and supposed actual acts of human and blood sacrifice in Hollywood. I'm not talking about "Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom" movie scenes either. I'm referencing supposed acts of human sacrifice as well as acts of cannibalism that apparently occur in the open on a regular basis.

I'm not referencing some unfortunate rare and isolated act performed by some random serial killer either. Apparently, horrific acts of human sacrifice and cannibalism is a normal everyday thing in Hollywood simply because someone has a difference of opinion.  Who know that this was all that it took?

I'm surprised that Rodney Howard-Brown isn't working for The Onion. For those who don't know what The Onion is, it's a satire/parody entertainment news site.

The Word Persecution Is Weaponized
Christian suffering is a very real topic. However, when referenced in this country, it's not about those who suffered at the hands of ISIS or some other group, but by those that define persecution as anyone who encountered a simple difference of opinion.

The word is weaponized by those that vaguely redefine the word as a blanket statement that encompasses any critiques or criticisms. Essentially, the word persecution becomes a exploitative, sensationalist click-bait term for various bloggers to abuse.

This extremely watered down redefining of that word invites many to take advantage of it to trivialize their own grievances as quote "Christian suffering".  A good example of this is when someone claims horrific persecution because someone said Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. This is the nonsense drivel that people prioritize?

This is a massive disservice to those that actually have suffered and died in many parts of the world because of their beliefs. People who were verbally or physically assaulted because of there beliefs or affiliations.

I can make the very safe assumption that Rodney Howard-Brown embraces the sensationalist redefining of the word. He also embraces the conspiracy baggage that comes with that redefining by promoting his us-vs.-them and quote "they're out to get us" mantra.

I bring this up reading the last part of that NBC News article, he states the following:  "My encouragement to you is not to talk to these people because they're not looking for the truth," "They're just trying to find an angle to shut the church down."

What's sad is that the Hillsborough County Sheriff did a massive service for the general public in the name of health and safety,
but yet, many uniformed idiots are going to demonize them for there actions. Many will scream at the top of there lungs using
horribly abused phrases like "There attacking my faith", or quote "My faith is under assault".

Many will scream that this is yet a another perceived attempt by those quote "evil liberals that are out to stomp out Christianity". Many will use this episode as another one those "there out to get us" moments. The irony is that the pastor violated an order that was signed by Trump, who Rodney Howard-Brown is a big supporter of.

Conclusion
The pastor claimed to do the things that he did because he loved God. However, if anything, he was testing God and showing contempt to his own believers by promoting such reckless actions. Rodney Howard-Brown showed complete disregard for the health and well-being of his fellow congregation members by promoting his own egotistical view of quote "faith". This isn't faith.

those who embrace conspiracy theories are doing a massive disservice to those that are getting sick and dying from the Coronavirus.

What he did is actually probably one of the most un-Christ like things one could do. If one claim to be what they claim to be, then they can start by show respect for people's health during this time. If we love our neighbor as Jesus calls on us to do, then we can start by taking this virus seriously and not get others sick while exercising caution.

What's pathetic is that despite him showing a complete disregard for people's health, several will make this idiot into a martyr.

I'm going to end the piece like this: I don't have the time for outlandish sensationalist click-bait or conspiracy theories. Rodney Howard-Browne is not a martyr. Do not make this idiot into one. Stay healthy and exercise caution. Don't take any unnecessary risk and stay home if possible. Your health is the most important thing in the world. That includes both your physical and mental health. Remain wise, prudent, and sensible, and don't fall for foolish tomfoolery.
